Why should I attend T-Camp?

T-Camp staff & counselors are dedicated to making your first experience as an Aggie one that you will never forget. The goal of T-Camp is to help you to soar to new heights, by helping you to establish relationships with fellow transfer students and learn Texas A&M traditions before classes even begin!

Who is eligible to attend T-Camp?

New students transferring into Texas A&M during Summer Sessions or for the Fall semester 2008 are eligible to attend camp. Registration is on a first come first served basis as there is limited space for camp. We recommend that you register for camp once you are confirm to attend Texas A&M.

When is T-Camp?

The session dates for T-Camp 2008 are:

  • Session I: Monday, August 11th - Wednesday, August 13th
  • Session II: Friday, August 15th - Sunday, August 17th

Students who plan on attending the 4th session of New Student Conferences must attend the first session of T-Camp.

What is the difference between my New Student Conference and T-Camp?

T-Camp is not a replacement for a New Student Conference. New Student Conferences are Texas A&M's mandatory orientation that is coordinated by the Office of New Student Programs in the Department of Student Life. All students entering Texas A&M must register and attend a New Student Conference in order to register for classes.

T-Camp is an optional, student-run, extended orientation program designed to help transfer students establish relationships and gain a better understanding about Texas A&M traditions.

How long is T-Camp?

T-Camp is a 3-day and 2-night experience. We are scheduled to depart from Texas A&M at 10:00am on the first day of each session and returning back to campus on the third day between 7:00pm – 8:00pm.

How do I register to attend T-Camp?

There are several different ways to register to attend T-Camp: online, at New Student Conferences, or via mail. Online Registration will be available May 1st on the T-Camp website. Informational tables will be set-up at each of the New Student Conferences for more information and registration. You will also be receiving registration packets in July with instructions on how to register online or through the mail at your request.

How much does it cost to attend T-Camp?

The registration cost to attend camp is $125. Payment can be sent by mail (Check, Cashiers Check, or Money Order) or credit card through the T-Camp website (MasterCard, Visa, and Discover Card are only accepted). Registration fees cover transportation, lodging, meals, camp t-shirt, insurance, and activities during camp. If you choose to pay online via credit card, the MSC Box Office that sponsors our credit card processing will charge a $8.50 in fees that will be added to the registration charge.

Is there financial aid available to attend T-Camp?

Yes! We have a limited amount of need-based fee waivers for new transfer students that are not able to pay the registration fee. If you are interested in applying for a need-based scholarship for T-Camp, please contact us for more details at t-camp@stuact.tamu.edu.

What happens after I register for T-Camp?

Once we process your registration and payment, we will send you an email to confirm your attendance to a T-Camp session. A confirmation letter will be sent to you in late July. The confirmation letter will contain instructions on parking location, check-in times, check-in location, packing list, and other important details to get you ready to attend T-Camp.

What if I am going to live on-campus?

Texas A&M University Residence Halls will open on Sunday, August 17th at 8:00 am. If you are interested in attending Session I and will be living on-campus, please notify us and we will assist you in a possible early residence hall move-in date. If you choose to have an early move-in date, the Department of Residence Life will charge you a daily rate for the amount of day(s) prior to the start of your contract agreement.

Where is T-Camp held?

T-Camp is held at a camp retreat location in Trinity, Texas, approximately 1.5 hours from campus. All campers and counselors will depart from College Station on the first day of camp by bus. Texas A&M University Charter Services will be used for transportation.

Where will I be sleeping at T-Camp?

All campers and counselors will stay in air-conditioned, dorm-style cabins fully equipped with bunk beds, showers, and restrooms. Men and women will be sleeping in different cabins with their own facilities.

What activities will be offered at T-Camp?

A variety of activities designed to teach Aggie Traditions, teach the Aggie way of life, and build bonds with fellow Aggies will be offered. These include all camp programs, small group interactions, mixers, skits, guest speakers, and much more!
